Samsung developing AI to make your mobile network connection better

Nobody has a near perfect user experience with their mobile network. We've all been instances where our networks have let us down, whether that's due to congestion on the network or a degradation in the service quality.

There's a case to be made for artificial intelligence to be applied here, and that's precisely what Samsung is doing. Samsung is working with South Korea's KT to develop AI for optimizing network connectivity.

AI will help ease frustrations with mobile networks

Mobile networks are incapable of personalizing network settings on the individual level for users. All devices connected to one cellular base station get treated the same, even if their requirements from the network are vastly different.

This is what Samsung and KT aim to address. They've jointly developed AI-based wireless network optimization technology to ensure signal stability and the optimal settings for each individual user connected to the base station. Samsung is one of the leading supplier of network equipment to cellular companies across the globe. This technology will thus have far-reaching benefits.

This will enable mobile networks who utilize this technology to deliver stable and faster network connectivity to users in different environments. The AI also takes into account usage preferences to proactively ensure that the user receives the optimal network experience.

Samsung and KT have internally tested this technology so far and they plan to check its performance on the actual commercial network in the second half of this year.
