Apple might copy Samsung’s launch strategy for iPhones

People are interested to see what improvements Samsung brings with its new foldable phones next month, especially considering that the first foldable iPhone is set to launch next year. Apple will follow Samsung's lead in not only launching a foldable smartphone but also in its phased launch strategy.

Like Samsung, Apple could follow a biannual launch cycle for iPhones

According to two separate reliable sources, Ming-Chi Kuo and The Information (via 9To5Mac), Apple will divide the launch of its new iPhone lineup into two phases. In the first half of the year, the company reportedly plans to launch entry-level iPhone models. The second half of the year is reportedly reserved for high-end iPhones.

In the second half of next year, Apple is reportedly planning to launch the iPhone 18 Slim, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone. In the first half of 2027, the US-based firm is said to be planning to launch the iPhone 18e and the iPhone 18.

This biannual launch strategy is similar to Samsung's. The South Korean firm launches its Galaxy S series premium phones in the first quarter of the year, while its Galaxy Z series foldable phones hit the market in the third quarter of the year. By spreading its launches in both halves of the year, Apple can stay relevant in the news cycle througout the year and improve its marketing impact.
